As the owner of World Trade Financial Group and Clearpool Group, he demonstrated unparalleled leadership and vision, driving these entities to remarkable successes. His role in selling Clearpool Group to the Bank of Montreal highlights his acumen in recognizing and seizing strategic opportunities for growth and exit.

A Detroit area native, and long-time auto and maritime industry insider, Barron has invested in and operated several award-winning dealerships representing Lamborghini, Lexus, Toyota, Ford, Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and Ram. He is also an accomplished yachtsman competing and winning several national and international sailing titles such as the Canada’s Cup, Chicago to Mackinac and Sydney to Hobart.
He is considered a subject matter expert (SME) in the Anticipatory Hospitality, Digital CX, Social Media and rapidly evolving future transportation arenas.
Recently, Barron’s industry credibility and civic involvement, culminated in his appointment as President of the Detroit Auto Dealers Association and Chairman of the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS), one of the most attended and prestigious auto shows in the world, and one of the largest media events in North America. In recognition of his years of outstanding industry service, Barron was named Chairman Emeritus of the NAIAS.
He has also been an active CX In-Store Retail Consultant for JD Power, Mercedes Benz, Stellantis, MasTec Evi and Jackson Dawson.
Barron received his BSBA in Finance from the University of Denver. Additionally, Barron is a graduate of the NADA Dealer Candidate Academy. Barron also holds his USCG 100 GT Masters License. He and his son Drew now reside in Miami, Florida.
In his capacity as Senior Advisor for yachts over 65 feet for MBYC, Sandy brings a unique combination of operational experience, financial experience and legal experience to any opportunity or organization he is associated with or runs. Of most relevance to the activities of MBYC, Sandy co-founded Barton & Gray Mariners Club, LLC. Barton & Gray is the leading and first of its kind luxury yachting membership club in the United States. After starting the Club with just one Hinckley Picnic Boat, it now has a fleet comprising of over 85 Hinckley yachts, 15 of its own designed and dedicated yachts, the Daychaser 48, a Lagoon 62’ Catamaran, among others. Barton & Gray has over 1,000 members and has locations in over 25 high end coastal ports in the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic and Great Lakes in the summer and virtually every major yachting port in Florida in the winter and the Bahamas. Barton & Gray is well known for its high-touch concierge services and many co-sponsored bespoke events such as Formula One in Miami and the US Open Tennis in New York. Barton & Gray has also many enviable partnerships with bespoke companies.
Prior to co-founding Barton & Gray, Sandy led the acquisition of Hinckley Yachts with his partner Bill Bain and as President oversaw the massive expansion of Hinckley Yachts from a single location in Maine to multiple locations across the United States for both production, sales and service. When he sold Hinckley and co-founded Barton & Gray, Sandy launched Sea Glass Capital Advisors, LLC. Sea Glass is a financial and management consulting firm focused principally on the recreational marine industry and has had a wide range of engagements from due diligence in the superyacht construction business to the development and sale of custom management software for the operations of boatyards. Sandy is the Managing Partner and is still active with Sea Glass today. Sandy has also been associated with Hodgdon Yachts for many years as a consultant, President of its yacht services division and as Managing Director of Business Development and Strategy. Hodgdon is the oldest running premier custom boat builder in the United States and is the leading American builder of high-end limousine and other tenders for superyachts and is an annual exhibitor at the Monaco Yacht Show.
